Curious minds, welcome. Explore our approach.
FRACTAL is a design studio built on the belief that thoughtful design extends far beyond buildings.
We explore how architecture, travel, food, business, research, and community shape the way people experience the world.
Every FRACTAL project begins with the same core values—curiosity, thoughtful design, meaningful connection, stewardship, beauty, and belonging—and grows into something uniquely its own.
A FRACTAL is a pattern that repeats itself at every scale, creating extraordinary complexity from simple principles.
That idea perfectly reflects how we approach our work. Whether we’re designing a home, curating a journey through Georgia, developing a business strategy, or strengthening a community, the same values guide every decision.
Different projects.
One philosophy.
Infinite possibilities.
Rather than fitting into one industry, FRACTAL works wherever thoughtful design can create meaningful impact.
Our work currently includes:
As FRACTAL grows, new projects may emerge—but they’ll always be rooted in the same philosophy.
Architecture is one part of what we do, but it doesn’t define us.
FRACTAL approaches architecture as one expression of thoughtful design alongside experiences, research, strategy, and community building.
No….not yet.
FRACTAL designs and hosts curated experiences while encouraging independent travel.
Our goal isn’t simply to help people visit a place—it’s to help them experience it more intentionally.
We don’t believe meaningful experiences happen by accident.
Whether designing a building, planning a journey, organizing a dinner, or building a community initiative, we ask the same question:
How can thoughtful design help people connect more deeply with each other and the world around them?
Everything we do is guided by seven core values:
These values influence every project we undertake.
To us, design isn’t just about aesthetics.
It’s about intentionally shaping how people experience a place, an object, an organization, or even a conversation.
People who want to experience the world and be part of something great that creates a lasting impact.
Those who appreciate architecture and design, culture, food, wine, history, and meaningful conversations.
People who value quality over quantity.
Curiosity over checklists.

Participants remain independent travelers.
Depending on the experience, FRACTAL may organize gatherings, hosted activities, or planning resources, while participants remain responsible for their own travel arrangements unless otherwise specified. We offer personalized consultations to help design your experience.
You absolutely can!
FRACTAL isn’t intended to replace independent travel.
It’s designed to enrich it.
Instead of spending countless hours researching destinations, neighborhoods, wineries, restaurants, and logistics, we’re helping build your experience based on years of research, firsthand experience, and local relationships. We hope it's just the gateway into you finding more amazing things to explore and share with others!
These trips are to help with initial ease of experience—think of it as an introductory course. We encourage further research and deeper curiosity.
No.
Georgia is simply where our journey begins.
Having done extensive research and relationship building on my own of this amazing country over multiple visits, this is a place I want to introduce as many people as I can to it.
Future experiences may include architecture, food, wine, and culture in other regions around the world. We hope to travel the whole world and bring you along for the journey!
Absolutely.
Architecture remains a foundational part of FRACTAL, including residential, commercial, conceptual, and community-focused projects.
No.
While many projects are based in the Pacific Northwest, FRACTAL is interested in collaborating wherever meaningful opportunities arise.

Absolutely. We welcome collaborators, partners, and curious minds. Share your ideas or interests, and let’s explore what we can create together.
As the community grows, we’ll continue creating opportunities for guest speakers, workshops, and collaborative experiences.
There are many ways to become part of FRACTAL.
You can:
Not today.
However, as we grow, we will explore different tiers of involvement. Primarily to get the right information to those who want it.
We’re exploring future opportunities for a FRACTAL community with experiences, discussions, research, and events.
I’m an architectural designer, researcher, and lifelong learner who believes thoughtful design has the power to shape people, places, and communities.
I’ve always been driven by curiosity. Over the years, I’ve found myself asking questions about architecture, cities, culture, food, wine, business, and the way people experience the world. Eventually, I realized these weren’t separate interests—they were all connected.
I believe that when we remain curious, share what we learn, and bring people together, we create opportunities for meaningful change. That’s the foundation of FRACTAL.
Together with Arash, we work across architecture, research, strategy, education, and community experiences to help people bring meaningful ideas to life.
Thoughtful design can change the way we experience the world.
I’m an architectural designer who graduated in the Middle East. Although architecture is practiced differently around the world, I believe every culture has something valuable to teach us. I’m always eager to learn, share ideas, and collaborate with others.
I believe that when we teach, support, and learn from one another, we not only help others succeed—we also grow ourselves. Those experiences shape who we are, both as designers and as people.
At FRACTAL, I work alongside Grace to help bring ideas to life through thoughtful design, research, and visualization. Together, we work with individuals, businesses, and communities to create meaningful spaces, experiences, and opportunities that reflect their vision.
Absolutely. We welcome collaborators, partners, and curious minds. Share your ideas or interests, and let’s explore what we can create together.
We met through architecture.
Grace was serving as the student representative for the architecture program at Washington State University when Arash was exploring opportunities to continue his architectural education in the United States. What began as a conversation about architecture quickly became conversations about culture, travel, food, community, and the ways thoughtful design can shape people’s lives.
Although we grew up on opposite sides of the world—Grace in the United States and Arash in Iran—we discovered that our shared curiosity far outweighed our differences. Over time, those conversations grew into a friendship, then a relationship, and eventually a marriage.
Today, that same curiosity is the foundation of FRACTAL. Every project we take on is shaped by two different cultures, two different perspectives, and one shared belief: that thoughtful design has the power to bring people together.
Georgia holds a deeply personal place our lives.
It’s where we met.
It’s where we chose to get married.
But more than that, it’s a place that continually reminds us and teaches us how hospitality, culture, food, architecture, and community can transform the way we experience the world.
It has become another place we call home, and sharing that experience with others is what inspired FRACTAL’s first hosted journey.
It’s a fair question, and one I’ve been asked many times.
For a long time, I tried to separate my interests into different boxes because that’s what I thought I was supposed to do. But the more I learned, the more I realized those interests weren’t competing—they were connected.
Architecture taught me to think about space.
Travel taught me to think about culture.
Business taught me to think about systems.
Food taught me about hospitality.
Community taught me about belonging.
Today, I don’t see separate careers. I see one lifelong pursuit viewed through different lenses.
That’s why I created Fractal.
The experiences that shape us are created when many disciplines come together.
Fractal exists because I don’t want to choose between those disciplines—I want to explore how they connect.
That’s where I believe the most meaningful work happens.
I don’t believe in building a career around a single industry. I believe in building a life around a consistent set of values—and allowing those values to take many forms.
We hope to continue exploring how thoughtful design can strengthen places, businesses, communities, and experiences.
That may look like architecture one day.
A research project the next.
A Georgia harvest experience.
A community initiative.
A dinner around one table.
The projects may change.
The philosophy won’t.
Success isn’t measured by the number of projects we complete or the size of our business.
To us, success looks like creating work that genuinely improves people’s lives. It looks like helping communities become stronger, preserving and celebrating culture, supporting local businesses, creating spaces where people feel connected, and inspiring others to stay curious about the world around them.
We hope FRACTAL becomes more than a design studio. We want it to become a place where architecture, research, education, travel, food, business, and community come together to spark ideas, build relationships, and create meaningful change.
If, years from now, people can point to a place, an experience, or even a shift in perspective and say, “FRACTAL helped make this possible,” we’ll consider that success.
Still wondering? We’re here for your questions, big or small.
